A New Direction
A couple a weeks ago I accepted a position with a “small” local company called PCM Services as their VP of Operations. The company is a $30 million construction services provider (Asphalt, Concrete, Painting, Masonry, & Concrete Restoration, Construction Services, Power Washing, Waterproofing, Electric, Line Striping, and Seal Coat); their primary customers are property management companies…and there are a lot in this area. Obviously it is a different industry, however I have found driving operational excellence and leading people is generally the same where ever you go. I am excited about the opportunity. I work directly for the owners and they seem to be a great bunch of guys. The job as NO travel (The majority of their customers stretch from Northern Virginia to Baltimore) so that is a big bonus since in my previous role I was generally flying somewhere every week. The down side is my commute extended from five miles to ~15 miles so when I ride to work it takes me about an hour—I have already ridden in a few times. Bet you all feel sorry for me L. Wendy is glad to have her house back…I think I was driving her a little crazy.
We appreciate your prayers and support during this time of transition. Wendy and I really appreciate it.

A Turn Of Events
Often changes come when you least expect it. Well effective January 25th, Michael's position at Nestlé was eliminated because of a reorganization. He kind of laughs about it though. After Michael heard the news, just out of curiosity, he sat down with a sheet of paper and calculated the annualized savings/cost avoidance projects he initiated and drove in the last six months…he came up with $14+ million in savings for big initiatives not to mention the little ones. In spite of this turn of events we remain positive and have peace about it; often you don’t know the reason behind things but trust that new and better things are coming that you wouldn’t have seen when you were “safe and secure.” Thus Michael and Wendy are excited about the things to come.
Michael has updated his resume and professional information, just click on the link or his picture at the right. Please feel free to pass it on.
